David Cantrell Sr, age 73, beloved husband of Valerie Cantrell, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was born July 18, 1948, in Mouthcard, KY to Troy and Jean Cantrell. A devoted man of God, Dave was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church. He loved to garden and fish and was crazy about his grandchildren. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam where he was awarded The Bronze Star Medal. Survivors include his wife: Valerie; Children: David Cantrell Jr., Beth (Joe) Riley, Whitney (Charlie) Fuller, and Emily (Todd) Bello; Grandchildren: Megan (Troy) True, Ben Riley, and Cameron Fuller; and many nieces and nephews. Dave is preceded in death by his parents: Troy and Jean Cantrell; and his siblings: Paul and Charles Cantrell, Richard England, and Susie Hazlett. Visitation will be Tuesday February 22, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm and 10:00 am until time of service on Wednesday February 23, 2022. Services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday February 23, 2022 with burial to follow at the Boonesboro Cemetery with full military honors. Services will be conducted at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Lee Cruse. Pallbearers will be Ben Riley, Charlie Fuller, Chuck Cantrell, Troy True, Mike Hazlett, and Todd Bello. Honorary Pallbearers are David Cantrell Jr., Joe Riley, Cameron Fuller, and Jerry Johnson. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church, 101 W Lexington Avenue, Winchester, KY 40391 and/or Grace Bible Church, 250 N Main Street, Winchester, KY 40391. |
