GRC Lady Cards
In dominant fashion, the Lady Cards (28-2) on Monday night won their 10th Region Quarterfinal Game against the Pendleton County LadyCats (17-15). They were able to hold Pendleton County scoreless in the first quarter en route to a 31-0 period in which seven different players scored, eventually opening the game on a 35-0 run.

They managed to force 22 turnovers, while being led by Ciara Byars’ 26 points and Brianna Byars’ 19 points. Brianna Byars also had a team high 6 rebounds, while the Lady Cards had 29 in total.

On Friday, March 4th at 6pm, the Lady Cards will take on Bishop Brossart (20-10) at Nicholas County High School in Carlisle in the 10 th Region Semifinal contest. It’s a rematch of last year’s semifinal matchup, which saw the Lady Cards lose a close contest to the Lady ‘Stangs. Afterward, at 7:45, Montgomery County (20-12) plays Mason County (18-9) in the other Semifinal matchup. The winner of these two matchups will face either the next night, Sat. March 5th , at 7:00 pm in the 10th Region Championship Game.

On Wednesday night, the Cards (31-1) continued their season in the 10th Region Quarterfinal game with a 103-50 victory against Robertson County (13-21). They were spurred forward by a large 20-0 run in the opening quarter. Jerone Morton led the way with 29 points, while Morton and Sam Parrish tied for the team lead with 5 rebounds each. They also had a 62.7% field goal percentage for the night.

On Monday, March 7th at 6:00 pm, the Cards will play Mason County (24-5) in the 10 th Region Semifinal game at Holmes High School in Covington. The two teams currently have the best record in the 10th Region. After this contest, Campbell County (19-10) plays Bracken County (22-9) at 7:45 in the other 10th Region Semifinal game. The winners of each contest will meet in the 10th Region Championship game on Tuesday, March 8th at 7:00.
