Celebrating the life of Thelma Jean deBoer age 97, loving wife to the late Gerard deBoer entered her heavenly home on March 13, 2022, under the care of Hospice East, Winchester, Kentucky in her niece’s home. She was born on September 15,1924 to the late Pearl and Ethel Gray, and was one of 5 siblings, all preceding her in death.

Jean graduated from Clark County High School. She worked at the Army Depot during WWII and retired from Bluegrass Army Depot of Lexington. Jean compassionately cared for her sister Opal for 8 years, her late husband, neighbors and anyone she knew that needed help. Jean was known for her crocheting, quilting, needlepoint, and butterscotch pies. She made over 5000 ornaments for family and friends. She was quite the competitor, participating in a bowling league, and enjoyed dominating in Jacks, Aggravation, and Hand and Foot card game. Jean was a diehard Kentucky Wildcats fan, and always enjoyed March Madness. She was a faithful member of her church, Liberty Bible Church of God.

She is survived by niece, Judy Brotherton; four great nieces, Paula (Stuart) Cranford, Jeana (James) Robbins, Georgana (Rich) San Giacomo, Andrea (Allen) Sturm; and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Service will be following at 2:15pm at Liberty Bible Church of God, 6615 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Winchester, KY. Officiating will be Pastor Anthony Molihan. Words of Remembrance by Pastor Bill Konstantopoulos. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.
