The George Rogers Clark JROTC unit completed its competitive season last weekend.

The unit competed Saturday in the Bold Eagle Raider Competition on the Morehead State University campus. The competition consisted of several events ranging from a squad drill to a physical fitness test.

The “Long Knives” brought home first place in several events: the physical fitness test, one rope bridge, squad drill, a mystery challenge, color guard, and the Bold Eagle Challenge.

Tanner Morefield was the top male in the physical fitness test. Allie Endricks won the top female prize in the same event.

The event capped off a memorable final year for the JROTC seniors.

In November, the men’s team captured a national championship over 86 other teams at JRTOC All-Service Raider Nationals held at Gerald Lawhorn Scouting Base in Molena, Georgia. The women’s team came in fourth place.

The unit has been honored by the Clark County Public Schools Board of Education, the Winchester Board of Commissioners, and on the floors of both houses in the Kentucky General Assembly.
