Marjorie Ellen Shumate McCuddy, 87, widow of William Clifford McCuddy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 18th, 2022. She was born in Fayette County to Zachariah and Elizabeth Shrout Shumate. She was a long-time member of Winchester Wesleyan Church. She was committed to her faith and family.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Anita and Norm Bush, daughter and son-in-law Linda and Paul Merritt, son and daughter-in-law Seth and Sandra McCuddy and daughter-in-law Jamie McCuddy. She was a proud grandmother to Joshua Paul McCuddy (Allison), Daniel Scott McCuddy (Samantha), Mathew James McCuddy (Heather), Shelby Thomas McCuddy (Jackie), William Travis McCuddy and Emily Merritt Lawless (Jay). She was great-grandmother to Anna Katherine, Gabriel, Logan, Sophia, Asher, Pearse, Charlotte, Ireland, Celtic, Violet, and Alexander. She is survived by two brothers, Eugene and Bill (Amy) Shumate, sisters-in-law Juanita Patrick and Delores Stamper and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Ricardo McCuddy and Marcus Scott McCuddy, and four brothers, Spencer, Cecil, James Russell and Charles Shumate, and five sisters, Edna Hall, Florence Hollon, Christine Hubbard, Marie Nixon and Ann Banks.

Her family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers, Cleona, Kathy A., Kathy B., Caitlyn, Linda B., Mary and Rebecca. The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Hospice East.

Services will be conducted at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Ron Pelfrey at 11am, Thursday, April 21st. Burial will be at Clarmont Memorial Gardens with her Grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service.
