The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Clark County remained low in April.

The Clark County Health Department reported 96 cases which is down from the 131 reported in March. It was the first month since last June to report under 100 cases for a month.

However, the health department did see a sharp uptick in cases during the past week with 52 confirmed cases which makes up more than half for the month.

“We have had a small cluster outbreak in one location that contributed to the rise in case totals. However, overall, the community is doing well,” Clark County Public Health Director Becky Kissick said about the rise in cases.

The week of April 3-9 saw 14 confirmed cases as did the next week, April 10-16. The week of April 17-23 saw a small increase at 16 confirmed cases.

There have been 11,112 confirmed cases of the virus since the pandemic began in March 2020.
