We are deeply saddened to announce that our mother, Sarah passed away at Solomons Island, MD on April 12th at the age of 91yrs 11mos from onset of dementia. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and educator. She was loved by her family and many friends. Sarah was always found to be kind, agreeable and loved to talk to whomever she met. She was an excellent teacher of the very young and later went on to be an excellent learning support tutor to many children. Born and raised in Winchester, KY to Robert & Elizabeth Scobee. She married for a second time to Hugh B. Hammet (1928-2003). She is survived by her three children, Robert Hammet – Winchester, KY, Glenn Hammet – London UK, Betsy Emmons – Scarborough, ME. She was grandmother to Aaron Emmons, Colby Emmons, Tyler Emmons, Renat Hammet-Millay, Max Hammet-Millay. She also leaves behind four great grandchildren.
