Against Powell County (17-9) on Wednesday night of last week, they came out victorious by an 8-0 score. Andrew Hummel and Keyonte Back combined for nine strikeouts through seven shutout innings. Tanner Walton had 3 hits and Brady Davis drove in two runners.

In a matchup with Paris (8-19), the Cards scored often to walk away with a 9-1 win. Nick Huff had a pair of hits while Walton and Kamden McAlpin each delivered two RBIs. Among others, Sawyer Broeking had an RBI as well. The Cards also benefitted from a 4fourhit complete game by Devlin Gray, who struck out nine batters on just 79 pitches.

After a few weekend games were postponed due to rain, the Cards started the week on Monday with a victory over Madison Southern (11-14). Jordan Soliz struck out six batters in just as many innings while only allowing a single walk. Nick Huff and Caden Spicer each had 3 RBIs, with one of Spicer’s two hits being a home run. Ben Dawalt had a pair of hits.

On Wednesday, they took on Mason County (15-12) in Winchester. Although the Royals entered the game having won their last eight games after a slow start to the season, the Cards kept their own winning streak  going with a 8-3 victory.

This week, the Cards will end their regular season.

On Thursday, they’ll suit up in Winchester during a matchup with Bath County (21-11). The Wildcats have a respectable 21-11 record, and defeated Elliott County (11-17) Monday night to end a season-high three-game losing streak.

To end the regular season, they’ll take on 10th Region-leading Harrison County (21-7) in Cynthiana. The Thorobreds started the season by winning their first ten contests, and will also host the 10th Region Tournament later this year.

Once the regular season ends, the post season schedule will be announced.
