A man has allegedly admitted to setting fire to a Winchester apartment building and Rural King early Thursday morning.

Forty-year-old William Strange faces one count of 1st degree arson,  a count of 1st degree criminal mischief, a count of 2nd degree attempted burglary, and two drug related charges.

According to court records, law enforcement was called to the scene of a possible fire at 120 Strode Station Cr. just after 5 a.m. Police said that they found a stack of trash and wood lying against the building that appeared to have been intentionally set on fire. The Winchester Fire Department was shortly on the scene and put out the blaze. 

Police were then called to the scene another reported fire, this time at the Rural King off of Bypass Rd., according to court documents. Once there they observed a large stack of packed straw on the side of the building that appeared to have been deliberately set aflame. The side of the building sustained some damage. 

Police were then dispatched back to the apartment building on Strode Station Cr. in response to a call about breaking and entering regarding a male suspect. Once on the scene, according to court records, they encountered Strange, who consented to a search that turned up two marijuana pipes, and four white pills wrapped inside of clear packaging. 

According to court records, Strange admitted to police that he set both of the alleged fires on purpose. 

Strange was then arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he is currently being housed on a $100,000 cash bond. 

His arraignment is scheduled for Monday at 11:30 a.m.
