In a special-called Monday meeting of the Clark County Sanitary Sewer Board, an ongoing project to expand a sewer package plant operating behind Rockwell Village Mobile Home Park was discussed.
To help fund this project, the plan is to apply for a Community Development Block Grant from the state.
Although the homeowner’s association owns and operates an old package plant, it’s in poor condition and will need to be retired, thus requiring that sewage be sent elsewhere for treatment.
The plan is to also build a sewer pipeline from Yorktowne east down Rockwall Rd. – either going to Kentucky American Water’s plant for treatment or Winchester Municipal Utilities’ plant along VanMeter Rd.
Adding the Verna Hills subdivision that operates its own package plant is also in discussion, though it would be part of a later phase of the project.
A meeting will occur on June 16th to discuss the information further.
A motion was approved to send out a request for proposal for developing a separate, non-interest bearing checking account with an FDIC insured bank and another motion was approved to request $3 million in ARPA funds be transferred from the fiscal court to the sanitation district.
