Clark County Public Schools are again looking for a new assistant superintendent/chief academic officer and preschool principal.

Both positions are advertised as open this week despite the district announcing that both were filled during the last two months.

Julie Bonfield was named as assistant superintendent/chief academic officer in May after previously serving the district as its grant and district assessment coordinator. However, the CCCPS Board of Education voted to amend the position’s job description at a special-called meeting Monday, and the position was opened to new applications on the same day.

In an article posted on the school’s website, George Rogers Clark High School announced Wednesday afternoon that Bonfield accepted a position as assistant principal to replace the departing Jill Angelucci.

“I am most looking forward to working with the amazing staff at GRC and being around the students,” Bonfield said in the article. “I have missed being in a school building the last two years and look forward to getting back to the purpose of why I went into education in the first place – the kids.”

GRC Principal Jamie Keene said he is excited to welcome Bonfield to the school.

“We are excited to have Ms. Bonfield as part of our team,” Keene said. “She brings a lot experience that will be helpful as we continue to strive for excellence. She has a passion for education and building positive relationships is very important to her. I can’t wait for our staff and students to meet her. In just a short time, she is already ‘All In!’”

Brittany Forsthye was announced as the Clark County Preschool’s new principal on the district’s main Facebook page on June 28 – the same night the district announced a mutual part with former superintendent Dr. Molly McComas – but the position was posted as open again on July 7. Forsythe served as the school’s guidance counselor in recent years.
