Sarah Elizabeth Banks, 27, passed away on July 15, 2022, at her home in Winchester. She was born on September 27, 1994, to Kathy Hall (Banks) Botner, and the late Virgil Wayne Banks, parents who adored her from the very beginning. She graduated from the old Winchester Christian Academy in 2012 and was employed by Professional Solutions Property Management in Winchester. Besides her mother, Sarah leaves behind many special people in her life to cherish her memory including her older brother, Corey Banks, her maternal grandmother (Nana), Louise Hall, her stepfather, Jerry Botner, the man she shared her life with for many years, Antonio Jerel Haggins, Sr., and a very special little 5-year-old boy named Jerel Haggins, who called her his YaYa and also Mommy. Sarah simply adored Jerel beyond measure and had been in his life since he was 6 months old. She was preceded in death by her father and her paternal grandmother, Jessie Banks. Sarah will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. Sarah enjoyed listening to music including classic rock bands and rap. She adored her two cats, Kashi and Guy and many other pets that went before her. She loved all animals, especially cats and dogs, and she and her mother shared many cute and sad tales about lost, abused, and silly animals daily. Sarah also had an affinity for our older generation and always said, I just love old people. She especially loved her Nana and spent many days just sitting with her in her apartment, talking about anything and everything. We will miss her beautiful smile, her sweetness and quiet, gentle nature every day that we remain on earth. Our only hope is that she knew how very much she was treasured and adored. Her family invites you to celebrate Sarah’s life on Wednesday, July 20, at Scobee Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with the service directly following at the funeral home. Because of Sarah’s love for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fairy Tales Pet Adoptions, 6049 Lexington Road, Winchester, KY 40391.
