The final Rock The Block of the summer is set for Friday.
Tom and the Torpedos will take the stage on the front steps of the Clark County Courthouse, starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. The event is sponsored by Stock Yards Bank & Trust.
The band’s Facebook page describes it as “a band dedicated to the music of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.”
And in the spirit of the rock legend, folks in Winchester better not back down when bringing their dancing shoes. Main Street will double as the dance floor.
Wildcat Willy’s Distillery will be on hand to provide adult beverages.
For classic car fans, Remember When Cruiserz will host a car show on Broadway St. from Church Alley to Wall Alley and D&S Hardware up to Cleveland St.
For the kids, Community Trust Bank will sponsor an activities area, and Rowland Arts Center and Winchester Design Studio will be jazzing up a city crosswalk.
Note: The print version of this article mistakenly referred to Remember When Cruiserz as “Rember When Cruiserz”. The Sun apologizes of this error.
