Alice Shumate Houston, 80, widow of Marion Wade Houston, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Fountain Circle Care and Rehabilitation. She was born in Clark County on June 24, 1942, to the late Cecil Mark and Fairy Rose Warner. She was a member of Turkeyfoot Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Cecilia (Jeff) Prater, Kylie Houston; one son, Paul Houston; three grandchildren, Todd Prater, Daryl Prater, Daniel (Arcenal) Prater; one great grandchild, Avielle Prater; brother, Roger Dale Warner, and several cousins, also a special cousin, Carrie M. Marstella.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by siblings, Josephine, Randall, and Cecil Roy Shumate.

Services will be at 1:00PM, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Kevin Jett. Burial will follow at Rose Family Cemetery, Fox Road in Estill County, KY.

Visitation will be from 12:00PM until time of service at Scobee Funeral Home.
