The George Rogers Clark Lady Cards have already surpassed their win total from the 2021 season.

GRC is 10-3 following wins over Lexington Christian and Estill County during the last week.

The team won nine games during the 2021 campaign and was winless during the pandemic-shortened season of 2020.

GRC lost the first set against Lexington Christian on Sept. 13 but came roaring back to win the next three sets 25-16, 25-21, and 25-20.

Junior Kelsey McKeehan continued her stellar play in the contest with 32 assists, 11 digs, and three service aces. Eighth-grader Mia Pendley contributed 14 kills to the Lady Cards’ cause. Junior Kamryn Toler led GRC with 19 digs.

On Sept. 15, the Lady Cards crushed Estill County in three straight sets: 25-6, 25-9, and 25-1.

McKeehan had 15 assists and 11 service aces. Junior Ella Lowe and senior Abigail Kubcian combined for ten kills. Toler had 11 digs.

The Lady Cards have also surpassed their region victory total from last season when they went 1-6 against neighboring competition.

They are currently 2-0 in district play and 5-0 in region play. Only two other schools, Scott and Bishop Brossart, have a perfect record against regional competition.

They take on Bourbon County this evening at home at 7:30 p.m. and will take on Harrison County in a Thursday road clash at 5:30 p.m.
