GRC girls’ soccer ends regular season on high note

The George Rogers Clark Lady Cardinals ended their season triumphantly against the Henry Clay Blue Devils on Monday.

The 2-1 victory in Lexington brought the Lady Cards’ record to 12-3-2 on the season, which is the best in Region 10.

Junior midfielder Madison Stapleton bagged a brace against the Blue Devils. Senior forward Ciana Araya assisted on one of Stapleton’s goals.

Senior Reagan Spivey scored Henry Clay’s lone goal.

Araya ends the regular season as the Lady Cards’ leading scorer and goal creator. In 17 games, she scored 14 goals and had 12 assists.

Stapleton is GRC’s other double-digit scorer with 12 goals. She also had four assists.

GRC will next take the field in the District 39 Tournament.
