After weeks of joyful visits from dear friends and family Jean peacefully moved on to be with the Lord on October 23, 2022. Born August 4, 1926 in Louisville, KY. Married to Horace Byron Gaar Jr and mother to Jean Sackett, Susan Gaar, and Horace Byron Gaar III and step mother to Lucille Epperson. She had 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren.
Following a separation Jean supported her three children by painting portraits and re-married in 1964 to William B. Epperson for a 41 year loving marriage with Daddy Bill until his passing in 2005.
A faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington KY for 72 years she was a treasured matriarch to and loved by her family, known to all as Moma Jean.
A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 460 East Main Street, Lexington, KY on Saturday October 29 at 2pm. The service will be streamed at https://vimeo.com/event/201455 for those who cannot attend in person.
