Elizabeth Rose Shearer Shrout, 92, passed away Monday, October 3rd at her home in Louisville,
Kentucky. She was born on April 23rd, 1930, in Winchester to the late Cecil Shearer and Sallie
Adams Wilson. A former resident of Winchester, she was a devoted and beloved mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed homemaking, antiques, reading and UK
Basketball.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Arthur L. Shrout; a son, Arthur G. Shrout; a
son-in-law, Lee R. Spencer; and a brother, Gilbert B. Shearer.
She is survived by her daughter, Rose L. Spencer; daughter-in law, Sandy Shrout; grandsons,
Adam G. Shrout, Alan L. Shrout (Jaime); granddaughter, Dr. Kari Beth Spencer Christie (Brian);
greatgrandchildren, Camden L. Shrout, Claire E. Christie and Emilee K. Christie as well as
several nieces and nephews.
A family celebration of life will be held at Ratterman Funeral Home, Louisville, Kentucky.
