Francis “Frank” Prewitt Witham, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Hazard, Kentucky. A native of Winchester, Kentucky, he was born on May 27, 1941, to the late Lee Witham and Lucille Crews Casteel.
Frank was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Frank had a passion for any type of wood and a passion for building with it! He was an avid woodworker and craftsman specializing in antique furniture as well as a custom home builder. Frank was known for his expertise and incredible attention to detail in all his work. Frank never met a stranger and loved telling and learning new stories from anyone he met.
Survivors include three children, Alison (Randy) Earley of Charlotte, NC; Francis “Prewitt” Witham, II of Stanton, and Robert “Morgan” (Morgan) Witham of Richmond, VA; stepdaughter, Dana Kelley of Lexington; grandchildren, Aidan, Grace, Eliza, Everett, Ethan, and Keleigh; several extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his sister, Edna Lee Walters and stepson, David Kelley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 11:00am until time of service at 12:00pm. Visitation and service will be held at the Cathedral Domain, 830 Highway 1746, Irvine, KY 40336 by Rev. James Hensley with cremation to follow.
