Judi Burnam Davenport, 75, Cincinnati, Ohio, wife of Neal Davenport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. Daughter of the late Allan and Jenella Burnam, she was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Dec. 7, 1946.
Judi was the consummate scholar. She received her formal education in the Clark County Public School System, graduating from GRC in 1964 as class Salutatorian. She graduated summa cum laude from Morehead State University, receiving a BA degree in English and French and a minor in Psychology.
She taught both English and French at GRC, worked at New York’s Glamour Magazine as the Assistant Accessories Editor, Merchandise Buyer for Shillito’s Department Store in Cincinnati, Ohio, General Electric (GE) Aeronautical Engineering Division as Buyer/Contract Administrator where she worked for 32 years before retiring in 2011. A member of AKA Sorority, Incorporated.
Judy leaves to cherish her memory husband Neal; son, Allan Curtis Davenport, Cincinnati, OH; sister, Jane E. Burnam, Winchester, Ky.; brother, Emmett “Buzz” Burnam (June), Lexington, KY. Nieces and nephews: Dr. Jenawik Marcum (Joe), Ashland, Ky.; Narcissus Burnam, Winchester, Ky.; Barbara Hill, George Mack, Paula Simmons and Henry Mack, Winchester, Ky; William Mack Jr. (Gwendolyn), Temple Hill, Md. Great nieces and nephews: Ayleia Graham (Logan), Lexington, Ky.; Skylynn and Saveyah Burnam, Winchester, Ky.; Chalyssa Jones, Jasin and Sean Burnam, Lexington, Ky.; Roy and Jenella Marcum, Ashland, Ky. Great-great niece: Karmella, Lexington, Ky. Judi was preceded in death by her half sister Pauline Mack.
