Bob Berryman

Our beloved Bob Berryman went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Clark Regional Hospital. He was born August 13, 1929 in Clark County, Kentucky to Carrie Palmer Berryman and Henry Clay Berryman. He graduated from Clark County High School, Winchester.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1951 to October 1953 during the Korean War as a B29 Bomber mechanic. Bob retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 38 years of service where he was a lineman, lineman supervisor and served as president of the local Communications Workers of America.

Bob was a member of Central Baptist Church where he served several years as a Sunday School teacher and on various church committees.

As a youth he was active in 4-H. As an adult he was president of the local 4-H Council and a member of the District 4-H Council and received the 4-H Alumni award for achievement.

Bob married the love of his life, Betty Jean Mays on November 25, 1950 and had three sons, Stephen Hilton, Richard Scott and Robert Stuart. Together, he and Betty traveled to Scotland, England, Martha’s Vineyard, Texas and California to name a few. His favorite vacations were at Tropical Sands Resort at Ft. Myers Beach, Florida where he spent many hours with his Florida friends laughing, telling stories, being a prankster and enjoying the sunshine.

Bob has left behind his three sons, Stephen Hilton (Kim) Berryman, Richard Scott (Beverly) Berryman and Robert Stuart (Janelle) Berryman. Seven grandchildren: Jennifer Berryman, Andrew (Wendy) Berryman, Elizabeth (Ben) Schlosser, Bethany (Isaac) Dunteman, Kristina (Josh) Dewitt, Joshua Berryman and Morgan Berryman. Along with nine great-grandchildren Clay Berryman, Phoenix Berryman, Lilli Dunteman, Norah Dunteman, Zoe Dunteman, Benjamin Dunteman, Cali Jo Dewitt and Jesse Dewitt. We, his children, are sadden that he is gone, but joyful that he is walking hand and hand with our Mom (Granna) in Heaven.

Visitation will be held at Scobee Funeral Home from 11:00 – 12:00pm, on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
The funeral service will follow at the same location at 12:00pm, with burial following the service at Clarmont Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers will be Stephen Berryman, Scott Berryman, Stuart Berryman, Toulmin Hubbard, Andrew Berryman and Joshua Berryman. Honorary pallbearers are Clay Berryman, Phoenix Berryman and William Hodgkin.
