Gary Abney, 61, of Winchester, Ky, sadly passed away on November 27, 2022. He was born 5/25/1961 to Robert and Carla Abney in Lexington, KY. Gary was a wonderful and devoted son to Faye Abney, brother to Mike Abney, husband to Carla Abney, father to Stacy Ritchie (37) and Christopher Abney (31), grandfather to Taylor Sweet (20), Addisyn Reynolds (11), and Sophia Ritchie (4), and great-grandfather to Trenton “TJ” Derrickson (2). Gary was outgoing and had a love for music, singing, dancing, laughing, and anything outdoors. He was truly the life of the party and was known by his mother as her wild child. Gary had a love for riding his motorcycle and would never be seen without wearing one of his bandanas. Gary was a jokester, a lover of all things including his two dogs, Bella, and Bear, and worked hard for the people he loved and the things he enjoyed. The sound of his laugh, that sparkle in his eyes, and that need to make everyone else smile is something that will be missed by those who knew him. Gary will never be forgotten by those who greatly loved him. If you were fortunate enough to know him, you will surely smile when thinking of the person he was. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Abney and brother Darrrell Abney. Visitation will be held at Rolan Taylor Funeral Home on December 3, 2022, from 12:30pm until time of service at 3:00 PM. Graveside services will follow at Clintonville Cemetery in Paris, Ky.
