Melissa McGuire Reddix, 52, wife of Timothy W. Reddix, passed away at her home in Richmond, Kentucky on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on her father’s birthday, February 3, 1970, to Rebecca Diane Davidson McGuire and Eldon Rex McGuire in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky.
As a child Melissa lived in Lexington and Winchester, Kentucky, graduated from George Rogers Clark High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. She was self-employed as a sales representative for Pruvit Ventures, Inc.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons, Braden Gilbert and Jaxson Reddix of Richmond, uncle Kenny McGuire (Kim), cousins Logan and Aaron McGuire, all of Mt. Vernon, cousin Amy McGuire Johnson (Phillip) of Georgetown, and best friend, Anita Johnson Brandt (Jamie) of Mooresville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James H. Gilbert, maternal grandparents Roy and Elaine Davidson and paternal grandparents Raymond and Edna McGuire.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Tom Farrell officiating. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery.
