Kibbey’s Comedy Classics

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, Ron Kibbey’s Comedy Classics featuring older movies and vintage cartoons continues. The hit this time will be ‘“Nothing Sacred”, a “screwball comedy” of the 1930s featuring Carole Lombard and Fredric March. After being involved in a hoax that brought on ridicule, newspaper Wally Cook (March) gets reassigned by his editor to write obituaries. Meanwhile, Hazel Flagg (Lombard) is a young woman from Vermont who has been diagnosed with the terminal illness of radium poisoning. Seeing a significant opportunity to promote the paper and increase circulation, Cook brings Flagg to New York and talks in the newspaper about her dying while simultaneously falling in love with her. However, Flagg is hiding a secret. An old-time, classic cartoon precedes the film that many critics describe as a classic. Popcorn and drinks are going to be provided.
