Sandra Kay Napier Abner, 76, of Winchester, passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2023 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born on September 23, 1946 in Stanton, Kentucky to the late Elwood and Ida Mae Pelfrey Napier.
Sandy had been a resident of Winchester since 1983, a member of Rolling Hills Church of Christ, Mt. Sterling and a former secretary for the federal government. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, crafts and Sunday dinners after church. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Sandy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Clyde Abner of Winchester; cherished son, Michael Abner (Shelly) of Winchester; beloved daughter, Christie Gasdorf (Brian) of Winchester; eight beautiful grandchildren, Jeremy Abner (Lindzie) of Winchester, Kara Abner (Jermaine Higgins) of Winchester, Alissa Kenkel (Scott) of Chicago, Hannah Abner of Winchester, Lily Sullivan (Gavin) of Winchester, Noah Duncan of Ft. Benning, Georgia, Sarah Gasdorf of Winchester and Aiden Gasdorf of Winchester; nine treasured great grandchildren; four brothers, Ronnie Napier (Peggy) of Richmond, Gary Napier (Ruby) of Stanton, Randy Napier (Becky) of Winchester and Sidney Pendleton of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ruby Napier and her sister Patty Hatton.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Rolling Hills Church of Christ, 125 Rolling Hills Drive Mt. Sterling. Visitation will be held prior from 10:00AM until 12:00PM. Brother Danny Murphy and Brother Jerry Carmichael will be officiating.
