Elizabeth Bruton Gay 78, passed away at her home on January 27, 2023. She was the wife of James Gay. Libby was a native of Winchester, Kentucky born to the late Isaac and Mary Bruton and a member of Broadway Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Libby leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Harvey C (Beverly) Robinson of Shelbyville, KY and Craig (Christina) Robinson of McDonough GA. Two daughters: Regina R (James) Hampton of Lithonia, GA and Faith R (Darryl) Thompson, Lexington, KY. Five stepchildren, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One brother, Dillard (Mary) Bruton and one sister Bernice Lewis, a brother-in-law Harvey Embry, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Libby was preceded in death by siblings, Sarah (Charles) Allen, Mary Emma Embry, Isaac “Jay” (Mattie) Bruton. Funeral service 11:00am Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Broadway Baptist Church, 121 W Broadway St, Winchester, KY. Visitation begins at the church 9:30am till the hour of service. Private family graveside service at a later date. Libby’s children ask to consider donating to Hospice East who demonstrated great care, compassion and comfort to our mother.
