News Release
Anyone in Clark County looking for spiritual nourishment during the Lent season is in luck.
Five area churches – First Christian, Salem Presbyterian, Emmanuel Episcopal, First Baptist and First Presbyterian – have joined to bring back the Lenten Brown Bag Luncheon for another year. The services will last until the end of the month.
The luncheons are on Wednesdays, starting at 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Winchester. The church is located at 130 Windridge Drive. Attendees are asked to access the church’s fellowship hall from the lower parking lot. The services will conclude by 1 p.m. for those who need to return to work.
Food and drink will not be provided, so attendees must bring their own.
The services started last Wednesday with a sermon titled “Be Thou My Vision” by Rev. Dr. Jerry Johns of First Christian Church.
The schedule for the rest of the month is as follows:
• March 8 – “Be Still My Soul” by Rev. Don Stanley, Salem Presbyterian Church
• March 15 – “The Angel Gabriel from Heaven Came” by Father Jim Trimble, Emmanuel Episcopal Church
• March 22 – “God of Grace and God of Glory” by Rev. John Lepper, First Baptist Church
• March 29 – “When in Our Music God Is Glorified” by Rev. Wanda Olive, First Presbyterian Church.
