The Hunt family is no secret to the city of Winchester.

Previously, the late David Nelson Hunt served as the Clark County Circuit Court Clerk.

Now, his son is continuing a strong family tradition of serving residents – was recently recognized for doing so.

Satisfaction Pools, led by Carson Hunt, recently hosted a  ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday that marked its entry into the Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce.

“My dad was a member whenever he was a politician here growing up, and I got to know [Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director] Cindy [Banks] from up at the country club,” said Hunt. “They were so open and welcoming. I just obviously wanted to join such a great group.”

In 2020, Hunt started Satisfaction Pools, a business that has been operated from home.

Described on its website as “Central Kentucky’s go-to residential and commercial swimming pool cleaning and maintenance service,” the business offers a multitude of services.

Among them are full equipment inspections, on-site chemical testing, in-depth digital water analysis, cleaning that includes vacuuming, leaf and debris removal, and more.

Over the last year, the business has seen financial growth to the tune of having more employees and clientele.

“We started out essentially just doing residential pools and then grew to commercial pools this past summer,” he said. “We started mainly just in Winchester, and then word spread like wildfire.”

As a result, Hunt’s business now does work in commercial locations such as apartment complexes throughout Richmond, Montgomery County, and Paris. He even has hotels in Lexington, obtaining his services.

In the year to come, he looks to stay busy as the weather warms up.

“Starting around this time …. until we start opening the pools…everyone’s wanting to swim,” Hunt said. “Right now, we’re getting real busy with openings, service calls, and the weekly maintenance. It’s all starting.”

While having plenty of reason to celebrate his personal accomplishments, Hunt remained thankful to the many individuals – including former Mayor Ed Burtner – who showed up to celebrate the occasion.

“It means the world to me, just to [have] everyone’s support,” Hunt said. “You guys do that more than enough, and I’m very blessed.”

Additionally, Hunt – who is interested in serving in his father’s footsteps one day by entering politics – knows that his dad is watching in appreciation.

“I think he’d be very proud of me, and I’ve always tried to live on his legacy and be half the man he was,” he said. “If I’m just doing half of that, I think I’m doing pretty good for myself.”
