Parks and Rec Camp

Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation are offering a summer camp from June 12-August 4 for children aged five to ten. The camp will run five days a week and will include two meals, daily activities and weekly swimming. Any child attending must have completed Kindergarten. The cost to attend is $800 but there are early pay, lay-away options available. Registration is open now at WCCPR.RECDESK.com and there is a $50 deposit. For more information call (859) 744-9544

Tai Chi

Tai Chi classes are now offered at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays at the James B. Allen Generation Center, 32 Meadow Street. If practiced regularly, Tai Chan can benefit seniors in several ways: improved balance, decreased risk of high blood pressure, improved physical strength and sleep quality, and better overall physical and emotional well-being. Hot Rod Festival

Winchester’s 1st Annual Downtown Hot Rod Festival put on by Holder Entertainment and Remember When Cruiserz will take place from April 28th through 30th. Hours are 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Depot Street only on April 28. On April 29, the event goes from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with vendors set up at 11:00 a.m. On April 30, the event goes from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Awards will be given on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Dash plaques will be provided to the first 100 registered vehicles. Awards include the Mayor’s Choice, City Manager’s Choice, City Commissioners Choice of Hot Rod, Motorcycle, and Lowrider, Furthest Traveled Award, and Club Participation – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and Pin Ups Choice. Inflatables are present for the kids. Live music will be on the courthouse steps on Saturday night. Job Fair

At the BCTC Winchester-Clark County Campus, a Winchester Works Job Fair will take place on Tuesday, May 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event can be attended online or in person at 2020 Rolling Hills Lane. Companies that will be present include Kyle’s Kitchen & Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee, Sterling Health Care, Adecco, Mansea Metal, Sonoco, Tierney Storage, East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Staffmark, Winchester-Clark County Industrial Authority, Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce, and the Kentucky Career Center.

DAR Veteran Luncheon

The Hart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are hosting a luncheon to honor all Vietnam War veterans and their families on Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. The luncheon will be at the Winchester Elks Lodge on Shoppers Drive.
