Sadly, we had to let our mother, Gertrude Frances “Trudy” McKinney, 78, go to her heavenly home Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Roy Haggard, Sr. and Sadie Belle Brock Haggard. She grew up on White Conkwright Road. She loved talking about going up the hill and getting the cows and bringing them down to milk, before she had to catch the school bus and helping her momma with the house chores.

She was the wife of the late Isaac F. McKinney for 59 years. Little did they know they were only right over the hill from each other growing up. She attended Allansville Baptist Church for many years and was a member of Central Baptist Church.

She was the loving mother of three children, including two surviving, Edward “Eddie” Nelson (Lisa) McKinney, and Frances Michelle (Jerry) Miller. She has eight grandchildren, Joslyn (Bobby) Stanfield, December (Lee) Shortridge, Marisa (Zared) Layne, Hunter McKinney, Jacob McKinney, Courtney (Nelson) Johnson, Madison Miller, and Jerica Miller. She has eleven great grandchildren, Autumn Scott, Cameron Shortridge, Adyson Shortridge, Emersyn Shortridge, Bobby Stanfield, Elliott Stanfield, Olivia Banks, Gavin Layne, James Stamper, Jax Stamper, and Macie Johnson. She was survived by two brothers, Roy D. Haggard, Jr., and Glenn (Kay) Haggard; two sisters, Janetta Calico and Donna Ferguson. Trudy was the cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Isaac Dale and Serena McKinney; three brothers, Kenneth (Mona) Haggard, EW (Betty) Haggard, and William “Billy” (Ann) Haggard; one sister, Lucille (Gilbert) Wilder; two brothers-in-law, Denny Calico and Web Ferguson; one sister-in-law, Suzanne Haggard.

Services will be held at 1:00PM, Monday, May 8, 2023, at Scobee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob McKinney, Hunter McKinney, Lee Shortridge, Bobby Stanfield, Don Haggard, Jamie Haggard, Jason Haggard, and Hunter Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl McKinney, Billy McKinney, Eric Staton, Donald Parker, Glenn Marstella, Joe Brewer, and Doug Dearing.

Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the time of service on Monday.
