Rock the Block kicks off Friday

The first edition of Winchester First’s free summer concert series, Rock the Block, starts Friday at 7 p.m. in front of the Clark County Courthouse.
The evening’s entertainment is Bedford Band.
The Morehead-based band is described on its website as, “Born, raised, and based in Eastern Kentucky, Bedford is heading to the national music scene with something new in their pockets and something vintage in their souls.”
Winchester-Clark County Tourism and the Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsors of the event.
Community Trust Bank sponsors the children’s area.
Rock the Block returns on June 9 with the musical stylings of Boone Alley. The Dooley Gang will take to the stage on July 14 and The Tim Talbert Project will close the concert series on Aug. 11.
