A young child had died after an auto accident in Winchester on Wednesday.

Two-year-old Thomas Reed was a passenger in an automobile that left the 4700 block of Lexington Road and collided with a plank fence, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office told multiple media outlets in Lexington. Reed was transported to Kentucky Children’s Hospital and pronounced dead at 4:48 p.m.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident but does believe that alcohol and speed factored into the accident, according to media reports.
