Mildred Throckmorton, of Winchester, KY passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023. She was born Mildred Carol Moore to Finley Moore and the former Nettie Lou Napier on October 3, 1935, in LeRose, KY. She was the 7th child of 8, with her younger brother passing away at 10 months old.
She graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, Ohio. She married Paul J Throckmorton of W. Carrollton, OH, in 1954. PJ and Mildred moved to the U.S. Army base in San Francisco, CA in 1954. They returned to Kentucky in 1956 for PJ to attend the University of Kentucky. After several cross country moves, PJ and Mildred moved to Winchester.
Mildred was employed by the Sphar Seed Company, then Codell Construction where she retired from Codell after 20 years of employment.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Mary Redwine Cir. and a founding member of Cornerstone Christian Church, 40 Belmont Ave. She was a loving and caring Christian, wife, mother, grandma and “Gigi”.
After PJ’s passing in 2018 her health declined and made the move to Rosemary Brooks Place. She loved being a resident, enjoying the activities, church, staff, and companionship of the other residents. The family would like to make an honorable mention for the appreciation and compassion of Michelle Walton, Vickie Parker, Sonja Deiter and Patty Briles and the wonderful staff of Brooks Place.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband PJ, father Finley Moore, mother Nettie Lou Moore, her brothers and sisters Norman, Irene, Gladys, Jean, Roy, Nell, and Thelma, as well as her daughter Pam. She is survived by her daughter Beverly (Scott) Berryman, Grandson Louis” Chip” (Heather) Graves, Granddaughter Amy (Connor) Gifford, great granddaughter Audrey Humphries and great grandson William David Louis Graves.
Funeral services will will be Thursday, June 22nd at the Leon Pace Chapel at Scobee Funeral Home at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:30 am until the hour of service
Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
