Winchester woman charged with sexual misconduct with a minor

A Winchester woman stands accused of several charges following alleged inappropriate sexual activities with a minor.

Stephanie R. Johnson, 38, is charged with 3rd-degree rape, 3rd-degree sodomy, custodial interference (enhancement), and 3rd-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

According to the arrest citation, while following a lead on Johnson, who was under investigation for allegations of having a sexual relationship with a minor,  officers from the Winchester Police Department officers located her and the teenage minor at Johnson’s residence.

Johnson allegedly admitted to police that she provided the minor and another person under 21 with alcohol.

After being taken to the Winchester Police Department, Johnson was informed of her legal rights. The citation that states that she subsequently spoke to officers about her relationship with the minor, whom she professed to love.

Johnson stated that she and the minor have had a relationship for approximately two months, beginning with sharing secrets that led to flirting and talks of sex, and that the relationship turned sexual after two weeks.

The citation states that Johnson disclosed that the minor had been staying at her residence for five days, beginning on June 23 and that she had not notified the minor’s parents and/or authorities.

Johnson is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash bond.
