An amendment to Winchester’s Code of Ordinances that would allow Sunday sales of packaged alcohol passed its second reading on Tuesday.

The amendment will allow for the sale of packaged alcohol during the hours of 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. It passed 4-1 with the lone “no” vote coming from Commission Shannon Cox.

It passed its first reading in September in a narrow 3-2 vote during a lengthy commission meeting filled with tense exchanges between commission members and city residents in attendance.
