A native of Winchester Ky, He was a graduate of Clark County High School, Lexington Community College, Eastern Kentucky University and attended the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He owned and operated Rose Dental Lab for more than 40 years. Gayle was a master of his craft and known for the detail and quality of his porcelain work. He was a hobbyist jeweler and had a gift for creating one-of-a-kind gold pieces, most of which he gifted to family and friends. He was also an avid gardener, known by his friends to be constantly on a quest to cultivate the perfect plant.
He was predeceased by his father, Ambrose Rose, and brother Kenneth Rose. He is survived by two daughters, Julia Rose Howard, Mt Sterling, Beth Rose Smith (Tim), Mt Sterling, grandsons Mason Howard and Nick Howard, Mt Sterling, Zach Smith (Katie Lane), Scottsdale Arizona, and Garret Smith, Gilbert Arizona, and his mother Nancy Sosby Rose. He is also survived by nephews Mark Rose and Chad Rose of Winchester Ky and four bonus grandchildren whom he adored.
