Cecil Dale Garrett, 94, died March 18, 2024, in Winchester, Kentucky. A memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Church, 250 N Main Street, Winchester, at 3 pm March 30, 2024, with visitation from 1 pm. Send donations to Church of Christ Worldwide P.O. Box 54842 Lexington KY 40555 (for Robert Garrett-Zimbabwe or Mark Garrett-Senegal) in lieu of flowers, please. He was born October 25, 1929, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Stanton Dewitt Garrett and Mary Jesse “Dolly” Adamson Garrett. He married Elisabeth “Betsy” Salmon in 1951 while stationed in New Jersey with the U.S. Army and they moved to Winchester in 1960. Cecil was a chemistry professor and academic dean at Southeastern Christian College until its closing in 1979, and was Administrative Staff Officer in the University of Kentucky Physics and Astronomy Department until retirement. He was an active member and elder of the Belmont Church of Christ, Winchester.
