Arlin Denny Barnett of Winchester, KY, born October 11, 1940, entered into eternity on January 31, 2025, at the age of 84. Denny was the beloved son of James Reuben and Nellie Smith Barnett of Jeffersonville, KY. In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his brother, Andy Barnett. Denny was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Nora Stone Barnett, who he treasured in every way throughout their courtship and marriage. Denny was not only a faithful husband, but also a loving father to his son and family unconditionally. He was a loyal friend to many, always placing the needs of others ahead of his own. Denny had a smile for all, often telling jokes that brightened the room and uplifted others. He found joy in playing and listening to Bluegrass music and possessed a positive outlook with his faith in the Lord to the end. He will be deeply missed by many, remembered as a caring, loving, and selfless man. He is survived by his wife, Nora Stone Barnett, of Winchester, KY; a son, Brian Barnett, of Georgetown, KY; two stepsons, Jeremy (Stephanie) Cooley, of Flemingsburg, KY, and Jesse (Ashley) Cooley, of Nahunta, GA. He also was a constant father figure for many decades to Curt Caywood, of Southlake, TX, and Rebecca Prater, of Winchester, KY. Psalm 119 says Blessed are those whose lives have integrity. Above all, Denny will be remembered most as a man of integrity, who was blessed and truly blessed all those who knew him. His life will be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Ark of Mercy Church, Winchester, KY, with Ken Metcalf officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations will be received by Ark of Mercy Church Joseph’s Dream.
