Whether serving as the Executive Director at Brooks Place, a member of the Clark County Public Library Board, or by some other means, Tim Janes has been an active member of the Clark County community.

His efforts were recently recognized.

Toward the end of January, during the Rotary Leadership Institute Training in Lexington, Janes received a Certificate of Graduation from the Rotary Leadership Institute.

“We hope you will join us in congratulating…Tim Janes…upon completing the Rotary Leadership Institute,” stated Judy Worth, District 6740 Rotary Leadership Institute Co-Coordinator, via email.

Rotary District 6740 is a Rotary International district serving areas primarily in eastern Kentucky.

As such, the Rotary Club of Winchester – which routinely meets on Wednesday afternoons with guest speakers – is a member.

They and Rotarians from a number of other areas across the Commonwealth – including Cynthiana, Floyd County, Pikeville, Mt. Sterling, Morehead, Berea, Somerset, Nicholasville, Paris, and more – were represented at the event in which 5 clubs facilitated 17 classes offered.

Rotary District 6740 and the Heart of America Division awarded Janes—as well as seven additional graduates—the Certificate of Graduation.

To earn the Certificate of Graduation, you must pass Parts I, II, and III of the RLI course on Rotary knowledge and leadership skills.

As stated at https://kydistrict6740.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/25-01.pdf, “participants in Part I, II, and III tackled important topics like Attracting and Engaging Members, our Foundation, Rotary Opportunities, Running Effective Meetings, and many more. And they gave high marks to the facilitators and the learning opportunities offered during the courses, including sharing club practices, problem-solving, and new ideas with members of other clubs.”

Almost 18 hours of coursework were completed en route to achievement, and District Governor Xandy Stewart presented the award.

In January’s KY District 670 newsletter, Stewart elaborated.

“It was a wonderful day of sharing with fellow Rotarians throughout the District and demonstrated that we have many members willing to invest the time to know more and do more for this organization,” he said.
