A Winchester father was indicted for first-degree assault and first-degree criminal abuse for allegedly injuring his infant daughter during the summer.

Nicholas Grimm, 27, of 43 Jackson St., was arrested in December after the child, who was 9 months old at the time, was found to have multiple “brain bleeds,” according to the arrest citation, following a hospital examination.

According to court documents, Grimm told police he violently shook the child on multiple occasions between July and November 2018 because he was angry with the child. He told police he blamed the child for situations occurring within his family and that he “physically took it out on her.”

The grand jury also returned an indictment from an assault in November near Hall’s on the River.

Kaleb R. Keanaania, 21, was indicted for second-degree assault and second-degree persistent felony offender after he allegedly assaulted Caleb Staton on Nov. 11, 2018.

In court documents, Staton said he was invited to the location by another person who had an ounce of marijuana.

When he got out of the car, Staton said the friend revved his car’s engine and Keanaania emerged from behind a wall and hit Staton, knocking him down.

Staton said Keanaania hit him several times, then took a camera out, took pictures and said, “This is what happens when you rob from me,” according to court documents.

Detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office interviewed Keanaania on Nov. 16 and he reportedly admitted to knocking Staton down.

Keanaania is also in the Clark County Detention Center.

The following indictments were returned by the Clark County grand jury.

— Brian W. French, first-degree wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a DUI-suspended operator’s license, failure to maintain insurance, driving under the influence (third offense).

— Justin A. Johnson, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, first-degree promoting contraband, first-degree wanton endangerment.

— Michael W. Sallee, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (two counts).

— Ashley Nicole Whitley, theft by unlawful taking.

— Robert Mason Still, second-degree escape, first-degree persistent felony offender.
