A woman charged with stealing nearly $1,000 in lottery tickets and other items from a Winchester business sent her case to the grand jury Wednesday.

Kelli Browning, 30, of Jeffersonville, was arrested in November 2018 on a felony charge of attempting to influence the winning of a prize by coercion or fraud.

Browning is also accused of scanning multiple lottery tickets while she was working, but did not pay for them. The tickets were either thrown away or hidden under the cash register. The alleged thefts occurred when the national Powerball jackpot was reached $687.8 million. It was ultimately split between two winners.

If convicted, the charge carries a sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison. Browning is free on bond.
