— Amanda Gray: “Diana Sims and all the work she does for and with the elderly in our community. She works tirelessly to make sure meals are delivered, monthly commodities are received and they have basic day to day items they need. She helps them with their healthcare, takes them grocery shopping, goes grocery shopping for them (including the farmers market) and will take them to appointments if needed. Everything she does is done unselfishly and with their needs in mind.”

— Alen Falin: “Marshall Kennedy at Gaunces Cafe and deli. Just an outstanding figure all around. Worked there 4 years and he made each day great. If you were having a bad day, he would tell you a joke to make you smile, or talk to you to see what is going on. Always positive and hard working, genuine guy all around. I don’t live in winchester anymore but each day he still is in my mind and reminds me that each day is a blessing and a great day to be alive.”

— Barbara Nichols: “Tommy Thompson. One of the most respectable businessmen I’ve ever worked with. He has ran several successful local businesses and provides jobs for lots of people in the community. He is 72 years old and still works hard every day! He is a great person and I truly admire him!”

— Whitney Darbyshire: “Adreanna Woolwine Wills. I feel that she does not get the credit she so much deserves for all that she (and her staff) do for Clark County animals and our shelter. She is very passionate and works tirelessly in an often unthankful field! I admire her involvement in the betterment of our community and her drive to gain better understanding, knowledge, and support from all citizens of Clark County.”

— Diana Sims: “Ron Kibbey. Since his retirement I believe he has become more involved in trying to help improve our community. He works tirelessly on many committees and programs. I’m not sure I have ever met a more civic minded individual.”

— Anna Panda: “The Diguette family, without them, the special needs community wouldn’t exist in Clark county. We would all be outsourced to different counties. They bring us all together like one big family and prove to the community every day that inclusion IS possible with a little patients, love and understanding.”

— Elizabeth Buckner Hendricks: “Lara Early Thornbury and Chris Thornbury for their true grit hard work in historic preservation and rejuvenation of downtown Winchester. Unbelievably dedicated and selfless. Downtown Winchester would not be progressing at the rate it is without these fine people.”

— Hannah Sue Christopher: Tracey Johnson Miller for keeping the arts alive in our community and for making such a big impact on everyone who steps foot in Leeds. Also for giving kids a loving environment where they are able to be themselves.

— Heather Mae Rose: Brett Cheuvront is always a ray of sunshine. He is a true inspiration and always defending our sweet little town.”

— Erin Skinner Smith: “Bob Tabor is a civic treasure. Over the years, he has helped keep so many of our buildings downtown from crumbling. Rarely paid for his expertise, but because he loves his community!”
