In response to concerns about the spread of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19, Clark Regional Medical Center has made changes to its policy regarding visitation at the hospital and its transitional care facility.

Bridget Foster, director of marketing and communications for LifePoint Health Central Kentucky, CRMC’s parent company, issued the following statement Wednesday:

“To protect the health and wellness of our patients, providers, employees and all those who enter Clark Regional Medical Center (CRMC), we are implementing updated visitor guidelines for our facility, effective immediately and until further notice. Those with fever, cough, sore throat or other flu-like symptoms are not permitted to visit unless they are seeking care. Additionally, those who have traveled to a high-risk area for COVID-19 or had contact with a person known to be infected with COVID-19 are not permitted to visit. In accordance with guidance from the Kentucky Department of Public health (KDPH), we are also restricting all visitors from entering our transitional care unit unless they are visiting an individual receiving end-of-life care.
