First Care Clinics announced plans last week for its first urgent care walk-in clinic location in the Winchester community at 480 Bullion Blvd., Ste. B.

“We’re extremely excited to bring our patient-centered, walk-in urgent care to the folks of Winchester,” Rob Pantoja, founder of First Care Clinics, said. “We are going to offer a new kind of care to this wonderful community. At First Care, we are relentless about transforming the delivery of healthcare through outstanding customer service, convenience, and affordability.”

Scheduled to open this fall, the new clinic will be conveniently located on the West side of Winchester, near Kroger, next to AT&T and the new Verizon Wireless. Equipped with multiple exam rooms, on-site lab testing, and digital x-ray capabilities, the clinic will provide a broad array of urgent care, walk-in and occupational medicine services. Open seven days a week with extended hours, the clinic will offer treatment for a wide variety of common illnesses, injuries, and conditions.

“A shortage of primary care physicians and the cost of treating non-emergency health issues at emergency rooms has become an economic drain on patients. Walk-in urgent care helps to bridge the gap between primary care physicians and ERs,” Dawn Carpenter, family nurse practitioner and clinic director of first care, said. “By accepting most insurance plans and offering affordable self-pay prices, we hope to make healthcare available to everyone in the Winchester area.”
