This is in response to Mr. Vetter’s letter in The Sun Monday Aug. 7, 2017, concerning the traffic lights. The city does not control the traffic lights. They are controlled by the state. Mr. Vetters needs to call the DOT and make a request to them. I have been trying to get them to put up left turn arrows on Main Street and Lexington Avenue for years to no avail. I also have been trying to get them to change the timing on East Washington and North Highland streets as well as Main Street and Lexington Avenue. It took them about six months to get them to raise the water lid at 413 W. Lexington Ave. that was not raised after the construction was finished on West Lexington Avenue.
