Our View: New flavor, same pride
With the launch of its second new flavor in its more than 90 years of existence, Ale-8-One continues to make Winchester proud and prove there’s nothing wrong with trying something new.
Orange Cream Ale-8-One finally hit the shelves Monday. Winchester residents got the first taste of the new flavor in April and can now buy the four-packs in select locations in Kentucky while supplies last.
Orange Cream Ale-8 will only be available in some regions of Kentucky, including Lexington, Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, Owensboro, Corbin and southeastern parts of the state.
Retailers that will carry Orange Cream Ale-8 include Kroger, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco and Speedway.
Orange Cream will also be available online at ale8one.com while supplies last.
Orange Cream Ale-8 has been in the making for a couple of years; it was one of many flavors with which the company has experimented.
Orange Cream is the second new flavor for the company in 93 years. Ale-8 released a cherry flavor last year.
The new Orange Cream Ale-8 has notes of orange and sweet vanilla cream for a distinctive soda, according to a release.
For nearly a century, Clark Countians and people around the Commonwealth have loved and remained loyal to “the best of Bluegrass in the green glass.”
Ale-8-One is a Winchester tradition, one that most hold dear to their hearts. We believe adding new flavors only builds on the company’s reputation in our region and means exciting things for the Winchester-based business.
We are proud to be the home of Ale-8-One and we are proud to see the company taking risks and making efforts to offer more to their loyal fans. That can only mean good things for Winchester-Clark County.
Ale-8-One has found success with each new variety offered, including the diet Ale-8s, and last year’s cherry version. We think the new orange cream variety will offer the same exciting success to the local company.
The company says more flavors are on the horizon, and we are excited to see what they have up their sleeves next.
Until then, we’ll enjoy our crisp, cold Ale-8s, whatever the flavor, with pride.
