Clark man indicted for armed robbery

A Winchester man who confessed to a string of robberies was indicted for allegedly robbing a check-cashing business in Winchester.

Andrew Vaughn, 29, was indicted for first-degree robbery by the Clark County grand jury recently.

Vaughn was arrested in October after police say he attempted to rob a pharmacy in Lexington before robbing another pharmacy in Georgetown.

Police connected those incidents to the July 30 robbery of Check Into Cash in Winchester through the suspect’s vehicle, a black Plymouth PT Cruiser. Winchester Police located and interviewed Vaughn, who admitted to a total of 10 robberies. Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said Vaughn told detectives the Winchester robbery was the first. He confessed to other robberies in Lexington, Georgetown, Nicholasville, Florence, Cincinnati, Richmond and Mount Sterling, among others.
