Ale-8 named readers’ favorite by Kentucky Living

Kentucky Living readers have spoken. At the ‘Best in Kentucky’ awards presentation at the Kentucky State Fair, the Commonwealth’s most widely circulated print publication, announced its readership’s top choices in 25 categories.

Ale-8-One won first place in voting for Best Made-in-Kenutcky product, according to the magazine.

A renovation project in downtown Mount Sterling was also announced as the winner of Governor Matt Bevin’s ‘Beautify the Bluegrass’ campaign, a partnership with Kentucky Living to encourage Kentuckians to enhance and improve their local communities.

Deputy Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs and Miss America 2000 Heather French Henry emceed the ‘Best in Kentucky’ show which also included a live performance by ‘Best in Kentucky’ winner Jericho Woods. 

Published monthly by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives, Kentucky Living’s mission is to create a community of people who take pride in themselves as Kentuckians and to improve their quality of life.

For the ninth year, readers voted on KentuckyLiving.com to select winners from all over Kentucky, representing nearly every region of the Commonwealth and in categories representing the best in Kentucky destinations, food, drink, personalities, outdoors and shopping.  

This year’s awards included the announcement by Governor Bevin of the ‘Beautify the Bluegrass’ winners. Governor’s Award Winner Mount Sterling receives a barbecue dinner for 200 team members with the Governor and Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton. A project by the London Downtown Board and London Tourism received the Commonwealth Award, while Bevin recognized efforts by Fleming-Mason Energy as the top project by an electric cooperative.
