County officials collecting toys for Christmas

A consortium of county officials are collecting toys for children involved in the child support enforcement program.

Clark County Constable Lynn Toler said donation will be accepted through Dec. 20 at the child support enforcement office on Cleveland Avenue.

“We want to fill up the (office’s front) windows if we can,” Toler said.

The drive is the first attempt by the group, which includes the county constables, the county judge-executive, the county magistrates and the county attorney’s office, he said.

“The original deal was to go to the children of child support services in need,” Toler said. “That’s the plan.”

Toler said the constables had talked about doing a coat drive for children, but joined the effort to collect toys to help those being served by the child support office to have a better Christmas.

Donations will be accepted through Dec. 20, and can include coats or financial donations. Toys can be for all ages, he said.

“We hope to bring some smiles to people’s faces,” Toler said.
