David Michael Wagner, 68
We are bereft to announce the passing of David Michael Wagner, USAF, Captain (Ret.), on September 2, 2018. David was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. David, known as Dave to all who knew him well, was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on October 14, 1949 to the late Joseph C. Wagner Jr. and Marietta Stiller-Wagner.
Graduate of Cranberry High School, class of 1967. He attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA where he received his B.A. in Education in 1971. During his college career, Dave followed the call to service and joined the United States Air Force in 1972. Thus followed a dedicated 20 year career for the USAF where Dave flew countless flights on behalf of the United States of America. During this time, he met his beloved wife Katie on a trip to Auckland, New Zealand.
The two married in 1982 and began a lifetime of love and adventures. After separating from the military, Dave went on to receive his M.B.A. from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. Dave and Katie eventually settled down in Winchester, Kentucky, where they fulfilled their lifelong goal of building their dream home in the farmland of Kentucky.
Dave was an avid football and basketball fan, especially the UK Wildcats and the Pittsburgh Steelers. David lived a life of adventure and love, finding a day well spent being a day surrounded by family playing cards in his home in Kentucky or adventuring on rarely-traveled roads with his wife Katie.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years Katie Wagner, two daughters from a previous marriage, Courtney and Danielle, sisters Deborah Wagner and Nancy Wagner-Mullen, and brother Timothy Wagner, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Scobee Funeral Home, Winchester, Kentucky on Thursday, September 6th from 5:00-7:00PM and also, at Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City, Pennsylvania on Sunday, September 9th from 2:00-4:00PM and again from 7:00-9:00PM. Services will be at 10:00AM on Monday, September 10th at Morrison Funeral Home. Internment will be made at Sunset Memorial Garden in Seneca, Pennsylvania.
